2025-26 NBA Finals Futures Odds: Knicks Still Favorite vs. Spurs
NBA championship odds for the 2025-26 season are getting more attention as the playoffs hit the NBA Finals. And there's been an immediate shift in favorite.
The San Antonio Spurs entered the championship series atop 2026 NBA Finals futures odds. But the New York Knicks flipped the script with a Game 1 and 2 upsets.

2026 NBA Finals Odds
Knicks New Favorite
LATEST UPDATE: The San Antonio Spurs' run as the favorite didn't last long in BetMGM's NBA Finals futures odds market. San Antonio entered Game 1 as -210 chalk to win the title, with the New York Knicks a +170 underdog.
However, the plucky Knicks overcame a 14-point third-quarter deficit and stole Game 1 on the road 105-95. So BetMGM flipped New York the -140 favorite in NBA championship odds, with San Antonio a +118 underdog.
Then in Game 2, the Knicks rode a roller-coaster, overcoming a 12-point first-half deficit and blowing a 14-point fourth-quarter lead. But New York ultimately barely prevailed 105-104 to take a 2-0 series lead home to the Big Apple.
So the price got to Knicks -500/Spurs +375 in NBA championship odds.
And that's not all that's flipped. Hours before Game 1, BetMGM said it would be cheering for the Knicks to win the title. But there was a flood of series action on New York throughout the day Wednesday, surprisingly shifting the book's need.
That action has continued pouring in, though it's now a series. San Antonio won Game 3 115-111 on the road to pull within 2-1 in the best-of-7 series. The Knicks are now -200 to the Spurs' +165.
BetMGM took a pre-playoffs wager of $50,000 on San Antonio +650 to win the title, for a potential profit of $325,000. But that bet was more than countered with a pre-Game 1 bet of $200,000 on Knicks +155 to win the series, for a potential profit of $310,000.
And there was plenty more pre-Game 1 Knicks series money beyond that major wager. Surely more money showed after upsets in Games 1 and 2. New York is now on a 13-0 SU/12-1 ATS tear.
"I figured we'd take more Knicks money, but not to this capacity," BetMGM trading manager Hal Egeland said. "It's been around 75% of bets and around 88% of handle on the Knicks since May 31. We're now Spurs fans in the trading room.
"We'd still like seven games, but our rooting interest has switched."
Before the playoffs, the Knicks also drew a $20,000 at +2200 in NBA championship odds. Two more wins, and that bettor cashes out for $440,000 profit.
Oklahoma City has taken more dollars than any other team in BetMGM's NBA Finals futures odds. But with such short odds all season, the Thunder never developed into a liability.
The same can't be said of the Spurs, who opened +2500 a year ago and stretched to +6600 shortly before the season began. By New Year's, San Antonio was already into +1200.
Then a 30-4 run from Feb. 1 through the end of the regular season moved the Spurs to the +450 second choice, behind only OKC.
Now, however, with that sea of Knicks series cash flooding in, New York is the liability.
